It is a story full of romance, but if you read the back cover you can´t imagine what is it about or a big picture about the book, you get caught by the questions that surround the main characters.
It is of those books that you carry withy you every where to read whats next, and in which every detail counts, so you have to pay close attention, the songs and the movies mentioned, even the names of the main characters are well thoght-out.

It is written from the poin of view of Ángela and Gabriel, but centered in Ángela´s because Gabriel is the mysterious carácter and everything he might say only produces more doubts. So Ángela must decide if sh follows her instict that leades her to stay close to Gabriel or her mind that tells her that all about hi mis extremly weird.

I recommend this book to those who enjoy romance, the stories with latent mistery and fantastic events. Even tho it is oriented to a young public, I think that we all know that if the story is good entertains people from all ages.

Wild Cards: Ases High

Name: WILD CARDS: Wild cards.

Author: Several.

Editorial: Océano. (The cover of the book and the publisher are the ones that there are in Argentina)

Gender: Science Fiction.

“Ases High” is the second book of the WILD CARDS saga, carrying on with the story of the characters from the first book.

Again, the book was written by many authors making the story to change according the point of view of the different characters and the particular narration of each of them.

The story begins in 1979; in the city of Manhattan where we find the place strongly divide don Jokers, Ases and people to whom the virus didn´t affect in any way and the appearance of characters from an unknown origin.

In this part the Earth faces once again the threats and alien invasions, but not only that, also to the ideals of those who think that they can change the world. For which, the union from the ones that want to fight against those threats will be primordial.
For many motives, a lot of the characters are caught in different situations: those that have to fight the alien menace, the ones that must hide their true identity, those who take advantage from the invasion and take it as a sign to perform their own plans, and the ones that must decide if they join the fight or ignore it and live their lives.

This book is deeply influenced by greed, revenge, new experiences, good and bad influences, fear, heroic acts, and lies, and specially the team work.

In my opinion, this is a story that has an exciting start, but maybe over the course of the reading it starts to get bored a little, getting back at the half of the book to regain the impulse from the beginning.
If I compare “Ases High” with the first book, it loses the initial strength (thing that happens, especially when the first book has so many characters and stories) because it focuses more in certain characters, leaving aside those that have a “general” participation in the acts.
This is also why it generates a big expectation over the third book because we get to know better the story from the main characters in this saga.

Anyway, even thou I think the book doesn´t have the impact from the first one, so many things happen that change the course in the life of the main characters (both those who appear in the first book as those that we meet in this book) producing an incredible turn and generating a lot of expectations in the next book.

Wild Cards

Name: WILD CARDS: Wild cards.

Author: Several.

Editorial: Océano. (The cover of the book and the publisher are the ones that there are in Argentina)

Gender: Science Fiction.

The phenomenon GAME OF THRONES produced an uproar to the point that there isn´t a single person that doesn´t know when people is talking about either the books or the series and doesn’t know about their great author George R. R. Martin.
By his hand we find WILD CARDS, a saga in which Martin is the EDITOR and was written by several authors.
This saga is being currently published, with more than 20 books already published and with the intention of carrying on with the project.

“Wild Cards” is the first handing of the saga and it is set in the posterior years of the World War II.
Soon after the world starts to recover from the war an alien appears in the Earth ensuring that he wants to help saving the planet, as well as there are people with intentions of destroying it. But a huge virus is set free in Manhattan raising a catastrophe in the city. Thousands of people dies in the accident, but many others survive, taking on unique qualities beginning the life story of so many of those whom the wild card started to affect as to which the people involved in the new reality…

As I mentioned earlier, the book was written by several authors (that I´m going to mention later because there are many), between we find our editor George Martin and many other acknowledged authors.
This kind of writing makes the books really special, since it gives the story the particularity of being told, not only from different characters, but also from perspectives (both in places and situations) that relate too little with those from other characters.
This way you find a lot of characters and each one with different particularities, from superpowers, like those that we can read in comics, to ugly deformations.
Also, a singularity that in my opinion makes the book more interesting is that it is mixed with facts of real life, transforming and adapting them to the story of Wild Cards, creating a parallel world from the one we live but with heroes, villains and those that use their power for their own benefit.

It is a story about treason, love and hatered, partnership, loses, irreparable mistakes, great feats and physical and psyquic transformations, that lead the characters to face unimaginable situations.

Personally, I loved this book, it is really entertaining to read because it changes in every chapter and has a lot of characters, but without the disadvantage of getting lost by trying to relate them.
The only disadvantage that I found was that it is an extensive saga, but when you start to read, it worth it.
It is highly recommended for science fiction lovers, and for those who maybe don´t like it as much I also recommend it because being mixed with the real history makes it to lose the effect of “that is almost impossible” that the science fiction produces.

Authors in the book: Howard Waldrop, Roger Zelazny, Walter Jon Williams, Melinda M. Snodgrass, Michael Cassutt, George R. R, Martin, David D. Levine, Lewis Shiner, Victor Milán, Edward Bryant, Leanne C. Harper, Stephen Leigh, Carrie Vaughn, John J. Miller.

Wild Cards: El Comienzo

Nombre: WILD CARDS: El comienzo.

Autor: Varios.
